POSITION SUMMARY: Support Engineering Team leaders through Responsibility for specific projects within a determined project group, for the support of processes under development, introduction to manufacturing, or ongoing support as required. GENERAL SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Look for breakthrough technologies to reduce manufacturing cost or lead-time. Responsible for development and implementation of innovative solutions/technologies to deliver lower costs and shorter lead times. Product/Process Developments (Specific Product Line. Support Engineering Team Leaders through Maintenance of Current and Future State Value Stream Maps. Identify, justify & Manage budgets & capital spend requirements for new products and process developments. Implementation of Lean principles in Process development –Process Value Stream Mapping, 5S, SMEAD, Line Balancing etc. NPI’s & Product Transfers. Lead or actively participate in cross-functional teams to ensure New Product Introduction/Research and Development projects are completed in a timely and efficient manner. Ensure Effective Closure on Corrective Action Requests, NCR’s, CAPA’s, Maps etc. Implementation of safety/environmental requirements on purchase of all new equipment Strategic. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: Obtained as a minimum a Degree in Science, Mechanical/Production or Manufacturing Engineering. Minimum 2 years experience in a medical device/healthcare/pharma/aerospace environment or comparable hi-tech environment. Previous project management/Leadership expertise of a major new equipment introduction, process modification, NPI or Product transfer. Proven track record in development and Installation of manufacturing processes. Knowledge of ISO Design & Drafting Standards within a design & manufacturing environment. Demonstrated ability to lead sub teams within a project and give direction to fellow team members, contractors, vendors to complete tasks to a defined timeline. 3D CAD/CAM experience using Unigraphic’s or equivalent. Certified Six Sigma qualifications. ESSENTIAL: Minimum 2 years experience in a medical device/healthcare/pharma/aerospace environment or comparable hi-tech environment.
