An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced contracts specialist with a QS background to join a large and dynamic Projects team based in Cork to support the Procurement and Contracts lead. The successful candidate will possess a good understanding and experience of the Capital Projects Lifecycle particularly in the procurement phase, and their primary function will be to support the Commercial & Contracts Manager and the project team as a whole. Main deliverables to be produced and maintained on a weekly, bi-weekly and monthly basis will be the Tender Tracker Register, Procurement Plan Tracker, Contract Approval Register, Project Savings Register and Contract Variations Register. Role will have constant direct liaison with Project Mangers, Project Engineers and both Internal & External Stakeholders. Good previous experience of working on large scale capital investment projects (preferably public sector) through the various approval gates (preferably in the Project Planning & Procurement Phase) of the project lifecycle and approvals process will be a distinct advantage. Responsibilities: Provide direct input to the maintenance/upkeep of the Integrated Procurement Plan, Projects Savings Register, Contracts Approval Register and Contract Variations Register. Coordinate and monitor procurement related activities to ensure availability of timely, accurate information, and forecasts via system tools and processes. Provide regular updates at weekly/monthly project team meetings. Identify emerging trends (bottlenecks and delays) and report accordingly to the Commercial & Contract Manager. Track and log all approved and proposed changes and incorporate in to the Master Plans. Participate in project meetings. Play a key supporting role in the relationship with respective project teams. Supporting the project teams in drafting contract approval submissions and project saving justifications. Qualifications. 3-5 years post graduate experience required working in a Procurement/ Contract Management function on large scale (preferably public sector) capital investment projects. Degree in Construction Management/ Quantity Surveying or related discipline working towards chartered status. High proficiency and understanding of design, procurement, and construction management services processes. Familiarity and strong understanding with Public Sector Procurement rules and regulations including best practice corporate governance policies. Knowledge and understanding of the scope of works for large capital investment projects. Ability to communicate effectively with project management teams, other project leads, and all project stakeholders will be required. Ability to work on one's own initiative and seek direction from Commercial & Contracts Manager as required. Exceptional planning and organizational skills are required. Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite (MS Excel in particular.
