International Business Development Support Engineer required for large multinational based in the South of Ireland. The position will be based at the companies Irish headquarters in Cork and will require work at customer sites internationally from time to time. Working with a leading international technology company providing safe automation solutions to global manufacturing companies. This position reports to the Senior Manager, and will work with a team of talented international professionals in a dynamic, challenging and fast paced environment where customer focus is essential, a non-hierarchical approach is the norm; and where your primary role will be to provide business development support across our organization, developing and maintaining customer relationships and promoting services to maximise sales opportunities. You will become knowledgeable in our wide services portfolio and have the opportunity to be involved in other areas of business development internationally. Duties will include: Support senior business development managers in targeting, acquisition and relationship development with international accounts. Work with customers at senior management level to build an understanding of their compliance and safety needs, gather technical requirements and determine the optimum approach for the customers. Liaise with other team members across an international network to ensure strong development of customer relationships, successful project delivery and high quality of service. Provide pre-sales and post-sales support to priority international accounts. Prepare detailed commercial and technical proposals for services projects for international customers. Prepare customer and sector specific services sales support material for international workforce such as case studies, sales presentations, etc. Participate in the preparation and delivery of international business development events, to foster collaboration between the international workforce securing a synchronization on sales approaches. Providing feedback to the service development team on developing new tailored services or improving existing ones, as well as, monitoring competitor’s activity, market developments and generating the necessary reports. The successful Candidate will have: A technical engineering knowledge/background ideally in the manufacturing sector. The ability to understand services sales relations and processes in the industrial engineering context. Experience in a similar role as an internal sales engineer, technical support engineer, an electrical engineer looking to move into a commercial environment with the ability to illustrate good customer and administrative skills, or a junior engineer with customer experience in a sales environment looking to develop their career in technical sales. 2-3 years sales experience in a business to business environment delivering or selling services to customers, ideally within the engineering sector. Relevant degree in engineering preferably in electrical, automation, mechatronics or mechanical. Understanding of the sales/commercial process from meeting the customer, analysing their needs, creating a quotation and winning the project. Strong communications skills and a "can do” attitude.
