Purpose of the role: Works collaboratively with Formulation and Process Development, Manufacturing & Packaging, Validation, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Materials Management, Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, Project Management, and staff from other functional areas to meet complex project deliverables such as: New product introduction, Process technical transfer and scale-up, Qualification of new API and excipient suppliers, Start-up of new manufacturing sites. Optimization of current manufacturing processes while ensuring an uninterrupted commercial product supply. Responsibilities of the role: Leads technical support activities related to maintaining commercial product supplies through management of internal & external resources. Identifies and introduces new opportunities to improve processes within the business and provides technical expertise and support to process improvement efforts. Work to tight project deadlines and have experience using and developing GANT project schedules. Applies a full working knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) on a daily basis. Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Education and experience required: BSc or MSc degree in engineering or chemistry or science related technical discipline. Relevant pharmaceutical industry experience, with experience in formulation, technical transfer, scale-up and technical support of commercial scale drug products. Experience in leading a cross functional team both internally & externally. Demonstrates a working knowledge of regulatory filing requirements and guidance documents. Ability to work on own initiative, to provide solutions to problems and make recommendations. Green Belt, Black Belt or an Applied Statisticqualification coupled with industrial experience would be a distinct advantage. Experience in process data analytics, historian data analysis, Continued Process Verification and / or Discoverant would be applicable and beneficial.
