Responsibilities. Motivate and manage a team of highly engaged employees delivering on quality, cost and financial metrics. Promote a culture of empowerment & engagement of all manufacturing persons. Continuously improve the performance of the business unit by driving improvements in productivity, scrap and efficiency. Develop monthly & daily production output plans taking available capacity & resource constraints into account to deliver on customer service & financial metrics. Actively engage with and drive the delivery of all the Business Unit KPI’s. Promote and be a key driver of lean manufacture and visual management within the production environment. Manage performance of all personnel in the business unit and take appropriate corrective action as required. Ensure that all personnel are adequately trained in & comply with all Quality & EHS procedures. Administer Core Time and Attendance System. Ensure that Quality standards are achieved and maintained in the manufacturing areas. Expedite production, maximising efficiencies and meeting KPI’s. Provide direction and support to manufacturing team members. Ensure clear communication processes are in place to keep team updated on all matters relevant to the business and cell in a timely and appropriate manner. Ensure that training plans are developed & implemented according to the process instructions and that skill versatility targets are met and maintained. Ensure that employees are aware of and comply with all company policies and procedures across all shift patterns. Maximise efficiencies and performance across all manufacturing areas. Ensure that good housekeeping is maintained in compliance with the 6Ss Program. Liaise with the Warehouse and Distribution to ensure material is transacted correctly and on time. Establish and encourage a strong teamwork culture within the cell. Co-ordinate shift handovers. Lead and participate in cross-functional and cross-divisional process improvement initiatives. Through cross functional collaboration, ensure all business partners are engaged and informed of activities within the Business Unit in a timely manner. Qualifications & Experience. Degree or Masters in Business, Production Management, Engineering or similar Discipline. 4 years’ minimum experience in a manufacturing environment. 2 years minimum Supervisor experience. Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures of a production environment. Usually works with a minimum of supervision, conferring with leader on unusual matters. Demonstrated leadership aptitude to work with people and set direction as part of a cross functional team. Excellent knowledge & computer skills in MS Excel, PowerPoint & Word. Good knowledge of GMP / FDA regulatory requirements, housekeeping, health and safety. Genuine interest in investing in people and facilitates individual and team engagement and development. Ability to coach, provide effective feedback and manage performance. Problem solving methodology experience required with process knowledge desirable. Can interpret and analyse information and translate into operation actions. Excellent Influencing and communication skills.
