The Role. As General Manager you will be tasked with delivering the Customer Plan and the Retail Plan through team engagement, ensuring they live to exceed customer expectations, improve sales growth and create a profitable store. You will have overall accountability for exceeding KPI targets, demonstrating good financial controls and budget management, role modelling behaviours at all times to deliver an exceptional Customer Experience. Duties. Implement Retail Priorities and effectively communicate targets and objectives to the Assistant Managers and Team Leaders to cascade, tracking store performance against these plans and implement corrective action where necessary. • Conduct regular one-to-ones and personal development plans with management team to support talent and succession plans. • Deliver world class customer service, actively coaching and motivating the store team to create a positive experience. • Lead the store team with high levels of engagement, encouraging proactive actions from the customer feedback. • Identify commercial opportunities within the area and remaining alert to local/competitor activities and taking action to reduce competitor impact. • Maintain up to date knowledge of all store operational processes, communicating changes to the Assistant Managers, Team Leaders and Colleagues where appropriate. • Utilise the Store Visit Report to ensure compliance and deliver a great place to shop. • Maximise the use of payroll budgets through effective rostering and recruitment of a talented flexible team. Requirements. Strong leadership skills. Talent management. Ability to engage a team. Commercial awareness and good understanding of working in a retail environment. Management experience with effective communication skills – engaging and motivational Coaching skills and motivation skills to improve behaviours. Skills needed to diffuse conflict Planning and organising Resilience to overcome setbacks. Ability to work on occasions in an ambiguous environment.
