Project Manager - Engineering & Automation. Specialising in the design and build of highly automated manufacturing equipment this multinational organisation offers the opportunity to drive developments in manufacturing and control technologies. Due to continued business growth and expansion of the state of the art R&D facilities in Cork, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager the join the Senior Engineering Team. You. You will be an experienced Project Manager with a demonstrable working knowledge of project management tools & methodologies. You must have excellent organisational skills, a right first-time attitude and an ability to operate in pressurised time sensitive situations. You will be self-organised and take a logical and systematic approach to problem-solving; have the ability to prioritise the urgency of multiple requests and then take charge of these to meet deadlines. The Role. Reporting to the Department Team Manager, you will work with a team of talented professionals in a dynamic, challenging and fast paced environment where customer focus is essential; and where your primary role will be to project manage, coordinate and lead engineering and automation projects. You will coordinate both internal and external resources to achieve the project goals having a clear understanding of the necessary technical approach, quality of deliverables, and project budget targets. As Project Manager, you will ensure that these projects are delivered on time, on cost and to the required quality levels as determined by each client. You will also be the primary point of contact for the project client, answering technical, production, quality, delivery and engineering questions as they may arise. Additionally, you will be responsible for all project planning & reporting, project leadership, budgetary control, quality control & compliance, delivery and risk management for each project. Key Responsibilities. - Engage with clients at the very early stages of projects to understand their needs and to arrive at proposed engineering solutions. - Lead the generation of commercial & technical project proposals for clients. Generate project fee estimations and project delivery approach by Pilz. - Coordinate the preparation and delivery of engineering projects for our Irish customer base, managing internal and external resources. - Enhance, refine or develop our project management methodologies, templates, reports, tools and internal. - content for our services projects. - Develop project schedules and financial plans for projects. - Negotiating with contractors and suppliers for materials and services. - Actively manage and control key engineering and automation projects. - Provide engineering guidance and leadership to project teams. - Manage onsite installation and commissioning teams across a range of sectors. - Reporting regularly on progress both to the client and internally to senior management. - Participate in multi-disciplinary teams to provide systems solutions to current and future business needs. Essential Experience / Knowledge. - 5+ Years’ experience in the project management of engineering projects in industrial, manufacturing, environments or consultancy/services project. - Technical Experience in one or more of the following areas: Automation systems, industrial applications. - involving electrical and/or mechanical installation and commissioning teams. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written. - Proven ability to project manage and lead technical projects to a successful conclusion. - Knowledge and experience in the design and installation of safety systems and/or technical issues related to some machine elements including Electrical Control, AC/DC Motors, Inverters, Drives, Pneumatics, - Such experience may include installation, commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting. - The ability to work on own initiative and to strict deadlines. - A relevant degree in engineering preferably automation / electrical or related discipline. Location. The position is based at our Irish headquarters in Cork but will require work at customer sites nationally.
