Our client, a leading Freight & Logistics company based in Cork, now requires an Assistant Manager– office operator. The assistant manager will provide an efficient administration and operations support within the CS&R facility. The future assistant manager will report directly to the CS&R Manager. Responsibilities: Entering all container movements into the system correctly. Ensuring all EIR’s (Equipment Interchange Receipts) are completed correctly. Raising repair authorisation requests on the system daily and forwarding them to customers. Following up on authorisation requests issued. Answering the telephone and dealing with customer queries. Assisting the daily movements close-off. Supervise operations staff in managers absence. Organise transport bookings, booking and arranging haulage for customers. Organise and manage shunts of containers from port quay to storage yard. Managing container handler driver and cover for holidays and absences. Gate supervision cover and container inspection. Run daily, weekly and monthly reports for customers internal and external. Additional duties. Assisting the office accountant when requested. Assisting in any other administrative duties as required. May be required to help with container cleaning and repair and painting. Will be required to carry out physical work in the yard from time to time, including lifting, pulling and climbing. Skills/Experience: Knowledge of freight documentation and customs procedures. High level of written and verbal communication skills. Good organisational skills and administrative skills. Proven excellence in attention to detail. Ability to work under pressure/ calm personality and enjoys achieving challenging deadlines. Good telephone manner and ability and desire to give the customer the best possible service. Good business acumen. The ability to work on own initiative as well as working as part of a team. Terms: Full time, permanent. Package: Depending on experience.
