Job Title Operations Buyer - Fixed Term Contract
Description

Job Purpose: Generate orders in accordance with customer requirements ensuring the highest levels of service and support are given to the business, while maintaining compliance to the company policies.





Knowledge: To have a basic understanding of standard procurement systems and process; Past experience within the Fire and Security products and supplier market knowledge desirable.¿





Problem Solving: Sound business acumen and agility in working within a cross-functional environment. Proactively (and reactively) address supplier quality, service, delivery and other critical supply issues.





Supervision Received: ¿ 75%





Customer Focus: ¿Acts with customers in mind; promotes customer focused business practices; takes time to establish personal contact with key internal customers at appropriate levels. Constantly looking for continuous improvement opportunities.





Interpersonal Skills: Good communication skills - verbal-nonverbal, conflict management, basic negotiation skills, , customer focus, and continuous improvement focus.





Preferred Education: A-levels or equivalent;



Minimum Preference Experience: ¿Minimum experience: 1 years functional



Travel Requirements: Some occasional travel (infrequent) may be required







Essential Job Responsibilities





  • Generate orders in accordance with customer requirements.

  • Source & generate orders ensuring lowest cost is negotiated.¿

  • Continually seek and identify areas for improvement in line with Global Strategic direction.¿

  • Provide information and statistics with regard to purchasing activities.¿

  • Manage all supplier non-conformances & obtain preventative actions.¿

  • To continually seek and identify areas for improvement, with a view to improving service levels of supply base.¿

  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with the company's suppliers in accordance with the ethical code and standards of conduct maintaining the highest standard of professionalism.

Additional Qualification



  • Working knowledge of Procurement systems and processes: A-Levels or equivalent;

  • Procurement¿ line management experience¿

  • Negotiation and analytical skills: Basic

  • People development capability¿
