Jarlsberg cheese is a premium product that will now be manufactured in a new state of the art facility in East Cork. As part of the start-up process we are now looking for a Plant Manager. Reporting into the COO in Norway, this is a senior management role with full operational and P&L responsibility for Site activities and direction of plant management team in a start up environment. THE ROLE. * Total responsibility for effective operation of the facility, including people, budgets, quality, EHS, asset reliability, strategic projects supply chain and production. * Manage site management team including Operations, Quality, Engineering, EHS and Supply Chain. * Create a culture that drives Safety, Quality, Process Optimisation and ensuring delivery of Site Metrics and KPI's. * Ensure that site is compliant with both external and corporate regulations such as BRC, FDA and customer requirements. * Develop and build collaborative relationships with all elements of the value chain and develop good relationships with other plants. * Create and develop a high performing cross-functional team driven by developing talent, and creating a supportive team based culture. * Ensure that budgets, and investment commitments are met in timely fashion, and corresponding reports are completed on time. * Communicate and liaise with all internal and external bodies, building strong working relationships. * Foster a continuous improvement mindset within a plant with highly automated technology. REQUIREMENTS: * A degree in Food Science, Engineering or related discipline; a Master's degree is an advantage. * A minimum of 10-12 years' experience with in the dairy, process or food sector; previous start up experience would be a distinct advantage. * Significant management expertise with an ability to direct and develop the management team, and specifically of running state of the art production systems. * Have strong experience of budgeting and meeting strict deadlines and good understanding of cost drivers. * Strong leadership skills together with an ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation. * A track record of achievement in a processing environment and at management level.
