EHS Engineer is required by CareerWise Recruitment for our Cork based client. THE ROLE: * Responsible for developing/improving EHS systems, policies and strategies. Engaging with management and employees to embed a collaborative and proactive safety culture founded on continuous improvement. * Developing and implementation of EHS systems in line with regulatory requirements and international standards (e.g. ISO50001, OHSAS14001. * Preparation of EHS reports as required particularly for submission to regulatory authorities. * Monitoring the effectiveness of EHS programmes using Strategic Reviews, Audits, Inspections, Surveys etc.to assess current state and opportunities for improvement. * Conduct risk assessments and equipment validations and participate in closure of actions and risk reduction measures. * Co-ordinate and record hazardous waste shipments and identify opportunities for waste reduction. * Establish metrics for assessing EHS effectiveness. Ensure adequate evacuation and response plans are in place for fire and emergency situations. * Liaise with Facilities and Manufacturing teams to ensure changes to manufacturing process meet requirements of site Waste Water Licence. REQUIREMENTS: * Degree or equivalent in Science/Engineering e.g. Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Process/Chemical Engineering, Safety/Environment. * 3 years plus experience in a regulated environment. * A proven track record of success as an EHS Engineer in a large manufacturing company.
