Our client is a leading global biopharmaceutical business with a significant presence in Cork. Due to continual expansion in the organisation, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Supply Chain Specialist to join the planning and logistics team. Essentially the successful candidate will be responsible for converting demand forecast into robust plans to ensure continuous availability of inventory both internally and externally (within CMO network) to ensure production requirements are met on time. This role includes all related supply chain activities including planning parameters upkeep and data maintenance, inventory modelling, data analysis etc. RESPONSIBILITIES. Conversion of the demand plan to supply plans for the planning horizon to support the Global S&OP process, highlighting constraints and risks, developing options and proposing solutions to global stakeholders. Provision of clear instructions in the form of a packaging/production plan to internal manufacturing/packaging operations and external CMOs & suppliers which is driven by market priority volumes and lead times. Active participation in the Global S&OP process and lead discussions on specific products. Conduct what if analysis and develop recommendations for contingency plans for potential changes to the supply network. Lead weekly product S&OE meetings to ensure plan adherence, timely intermediate and finished goods product releases to meet market replenishment needs. Ensure that actual inventory is aligned to the target inventory position with effective use of safety stock. Identify long term supply constraints, or regulatory constraints which may result in out of stock product and develop contingency plans for same. Acts as focal point/lead for resolving product supply issues. Supply Chain planning point of contact to support launches for new product, new markets or both. Ensures planning parameters and data are accurately maintained in line with business processes and are maintained in a timely manner. Works with business partners to implement planning routines/behaviours such as data base maintenance, timely order placement in line with agreed lead-times, order scheduling / rescheduling based on plan changes etc. Support the evaluation of current processes and the transition to improved future processes in conjunction with the wider global team, including measuring and reporting progress at specified intervals. Work with subject matter expects and stakeholders to ensure that systems and processes are in place to support S&OP, Rough Cut and Detailed Capacity Planning and budget/cost/spend analysis. Provide technical planning leadership and mentoring to the Supply Planning team on an as needed basis. Requirements: Bachelors in Supply Chain Management or business-related area required. APICS certification (CPIM, CRIM, CSCP) preferred. Operational Excellence, Lean Process development, Six Sigma tools and techniques are desirable. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint and Project software required. Knowledge of large scale ERP systems - Oracale/ SAP. Minimum 8 years direct experience in a Supply Planning role, Minimum 3 years' experience in a pharmaceutical or biotech manufacturing organization. Working knowledge of current GxP regulations required. Successful candidates must have strong planning & analytical skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Demonstrated experience in leading medium to large planning related projects, in particular projects related to inventory modeling/strategy would be beneficial. Experience with GMP/GCP compliant operations required.
