Financial Reporting Manager (Cork. Reporting to the Head of Accounting the Accounting Manager will be responsible for the establishment and successful operation of the one of the Record to Report teams within the EMEA Global Business Services Organisation. In addition this position will be responsible for driving standard processes across teams within SSC.The Accounting Manager will manage one or more accounting systems in accordance with US GAAP and local statutory policies and procedures.The position will be responsible for the design and maintenance of operational procedures and processes that meet audit standards and improve efficiency within their area of responsibility and working with the other Accounting Managers within the function. Managing a team of up to 6 qualified and part qualified accountants the successful candidate will be responsible for building and managing the team, candidate selection where required, goal and objective setting and evaluation and employee motivation and development. Specific Duties & Responsibilities: Manages, prepares, administers, and directs the accounting close and financial reporting activities within the SSC organization for their area of responsibility. Responsible for SOX compliance and internal/external audits within GBS working closely with Internal and External Auditors. Responsible for ensuring timely preparation and submission of local Statutory Accounts. Responsible for ensuring timely preparation and submission of Direct Tax returns and provision calculation. Responsible for completion of the monthly and quarterly close decks and all reporting to Corporate for the countries under their responsibility. Reviews and approves accounting transactions and account reconciliations. Responsible for completion of monthly Controllers Scorecard for the countries under their remit. Maintains ledger integrity and ensures financial compliance with all of the Accounting Policies and to all applicable laws and regulations. Responsible for ensuring all Service Levels and KPI targets are achieved. Establishment of a continuous improvement culture. The development of strong relationships with stakeholders and customers (internal and external. Recruitment, retention, motivation and development of staff to operate the RTR processes within Global Business Services organisation. Manages and develops a professional multi-task and multi-language accounting team in a deadline-driven environment. Specific Requirements: The person will be educated to university degree level and will be a Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACA etc. Shared Services experience within a multi-functional, multi-cultural organization. Minimum 5 years post qualification experience preferably in a Shared Services environment. Proven ability to lead change initiatives and projects. The successful candidate will be an experienced accountant preferably with people management experience. He/she will have a fundamental understanding of what it takes to create and lead multi-country RTR processes in a Shared Services environment within a multi-national corporation. The person we seek will have at least 5 years post-qualification experience. An in depth knowledge of general accounting policies and procedures and US GAAP as well as good working knowledge of local European country statutory and tax reporting requirements. Strong knowledge of Oracle ERP or equivalent is essential. Proficiency with Microsoft tools (Excel, Outlook, and Word) required. Must have a strong proficiency in all aspects of accounting, as well as customer service, process improvement and people skills.
