QA Assistant- West Cork. Kenny-Whelan are sourcing a QA Assistant for our Food Industry client in West Cork. Our client has a research and NPD facility as well as a production plant and operates to Grade A BRC Quality standard. Responsibilities. Maintain document control within system and update and amend system when requested. Ensuring that the quality system is maintained and reviewed. Ensure necessary quality records are completed and endorsed by personnel. Investigating and documenting out of specification results and implementing corrective action and preventative actions. Authorizing release of product in Dispatch by carrying appropriate checks. Verifying all incoming materials meet requirements by test procedures. Customer requirements: ensure customer complaints are dealt with effectively. Ensure all outside visitors are dealt with politely and courteously. If they are entering factory, ensure they comply with company regulations on hygiene standards have completed a health declaration. Member of HACCP team-Maintain HACCP system ensuring company is reaching appropriate hygiene levels at all times. Updating systems to BRC accredited standards. Provide administrative support to the Laboratory, Production ,Quality Assurance function and management. Compiling work instructions and standard operating procedures. Involvement in internal and external auditing on HACCP and Quality System. Involved in BRC and Customer audits. The candidate will; Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific/technical discipline preferred. 1-2 years’ experience in manufacturing QA/QC laboratory. Have excellent organisational skills and have an ability to prioritise. Be numerate and IT literate, and be familiar with the following software packages (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc. Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Be self-motivated and prepared to be flexible when the occasion demands. It is an advantage if the candidate has prior knowledge/experience with Food safety Quality standards including BRC and HACCP.
