Clinical Nurse Manager II – Care of the Older Person. St Mary’s Ward. (Under the Governance of Mercy University Hospital Cork CLG.) The CNM II is an essential member of the Nurse Management Team. The role involves the implementation and evaluation of nursing services, the maintenance of the optimum clinical environment, the clinical working environment and the enhancement of an effective clinical learning environment. The post is central to the co-ordination and management of activity and resources within the ward. Responsibilities - The post holder will be responsible for; •Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the nursing care of assigned patients. •Practice nursing according to the Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics for Registered Nurses and Midwives (NMBI 2014. •The management and support of all nursing and Para-nursing staff in the clinical area in consultation with the Senior Nurse Management team. •The maintenance and development of professional nursing standards. •The maintenance of a safe environment for patients and staff within allocated resources. •The promotion of multi-disciplinary team working. Eligibility Criteria - Candidates: •Be registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses kept by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland {NMBI} •At least 5 years recent post registration experience. •Provide evidence of clinical and professional managerial ability, leadership, communication and organisational skills. •Excellent interpersonal skills. •Provide evidence of ongoing professional development. •Evidence of leading clinical practice initiatives. •Evidence of promotion of multi-disciplinary team work. •Management Course (Desirable. •Evidence of leading clinical practice initiatives. •Evidence of promotion of multi-disciplinary team work.
