The position. We are looking for a SaaS / DevOps Engineer to support our web collaboration products and 3rd party integrations including GlobalMeet and Skype. The successful candidate will have a strong background in both Windows and Linux systems in the cloud, and be capable of providing outstanding technical and engineering support. He/she will be part of a dynamic global team providing troubleshooting, configuration and deployment services from our EMEA headquarters in County Cork. Responsibilities. Installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of PGi’s web-based collaboration products and our audio conferencing equipment. Execute the building of automated environments for all of our platforms. Technical support of our infrastructure, systems, server environment. Document solutions and processes as part of execution. Resolve customer reported incidents in keeping with agreed response times and Service Level Agreements. Implement new projects and new technologies in accordance with agreed priorities. Participate in out of hours and bank holiday on-call rotation. Some scheduled weekend maintenance work. Requirements. Native English speaking. Advanced Linux systems administration experience. Advanced Windows Server administration experience. Experience administering a Skype Server environment. Adaptability and ability to work on own initiative as well as within a team structure. Ability to learn new technologies independent of formalized training. Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines. Solid problem solving and troubleshooting skills. Working knowledge with public cloud computing environments such as OpenStack, Amazon AWS and/or Google Cloud services. Strong understanding of internet and web based technologies. Linux shell scripting experience (BASH, Perl, *NIX utilities, etc. Some experience with SQL and database management. Solid understanding of internetworking IPv4 including TCP and UDP protocols, routing, IP subnet management, etc. Familiarity with TCP/IP tracing and troubleshooting tools such as SSL capture and decryption, tcpdump, WireShark, etc. Desired Additional Experience. Spanish, German or French fluency. Familiarity with *NIX/Windows interoperability such as Samba, etc. Infrastructure automation background with Chef, Elastic Beanstalk, Cloud Formation, auto-scaling (or at least some experience with configuration management. Experience with standard internet and *NIX related protocols (HTTP, HTTPS, WebSockets, SMTP, DNS, NTP, NFS, etc. Good working understanding of SSL/TLS including certificate management, etc. Experience with debugging and troubleshooting network packet and application flows. Specific database management experience in MySQL including replication setup and maintenance. Specific experience in Amazon AWS (EC2, RDS, VPC, CloudFormation, S3/CloudFront, etc.) Systems administration experience in Windows server environments. Experience in standard media streaming protocols such as RTMP, RTSP, HLS, etc. Some software development/programming experience in JAVA, Ruby, C++, C#, etc. Experience with source code control system concepts in Subversion or GIT/GitHub.
