General Ledger Accountant: I am working with an innovative global software company as they look to hire a general ledger accountant for their finance hub in Cork. This company were one of the pioneers of the open source technology model and had a large part to play in shaping the current software and technology landscape. The GL team are a small, tight-knit and well-managed team who work in a collaborative manner to achieve excellent results. Role Responsibilities: Responsible for the timely and accurate review and posting of month end and quarter close accounting transactions; P&L and balance sheet account analysis, review, reconciliation & resolution. Ensure financial records are in compliance with US and Local GAAP. Manage prepaid assets and miscellaneous accruals for EMEA entities. Preparation and approval of Balance Sheet Reconciliations. Ensure externally managed accounts are in sync with Oracle balances on a regular basis. Preparation of Statutory Accounts. Support Internal and External Audits. Build strong relationships and foster teamwork within department, overall finance, and business partners. Ensure financial records are in compliance with US and Local GAAP. Continuously review processes to identify areas for improvement. Ad Hoc accounting and reporting tasks as required. Key Skills: The successful candidate will be a qualified accounting professional with a strong training background in a top tier firm and ideally with some post qualified experience in a multinational organisation in a financial accounting capacity. Some key specifications you should have: ACA/ACCA/CPA qualified with 1 years PQE minimum. Post qualification experience in a GL/Financial Accounting capacity an advantage. ERP systems exposure -SAP or Oracle experience an advantage. Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Strong business acumen and analytical and problem-solving skills are required. Ability to work well in a fast paced target driven environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required. As well as having one of the best working environments in Cork, this company have some excellent accountants already in situ.
