PE Global are currently recruiting for a Technical Specialist (Biologics) for a client site in Cork. The Technical Specialist is accountable for the smooth execution of all appropriate functions associated with Consumables, Single use assemblies and Raw Material specification activities within the Biologics Team. He/She will contribute to the High Performance culture within the team by providing a flexible, accurate service to enable the team to achieve our key priorities. He/She will partner with the site Procurement team providing support and expertise. Primary activities/responsibilities: Work closely with internal customers during the specification of Consumables for Fermentation and Purification operating activities. Work closely with internal customers and client single use network during design and specification of single use components for Fermentation and Purification process trains. Work closely with Quality Control and Procurement during assessment and specification of Raw materials for Fermentation and Purification processes. Identify and advise internal customers and supply management of commercial risks inherent in quotations and purchase orders. Support MRP and Procurement in supplier evaluation program. Develop strategic plans for key suppliers to ensure high priority raw materials can be on site to meet Operations schedule timelines. Ensure compliance with the Purchasing Policy and company guidelines. Job Experience: At least 3 years’ experience in the Pharmaceutical industry or a similar operating environment including experience in a Technical support role. Demonstrated knowledge in more than one pharmaceutical and/or chemical manufacturing operation (e.g. Engineering, Manufacturing, Process etc. Desirable to have a Process and Technology background. Knowledge and experience of interacting with procurement and supply chain personnel. Demonstrated use of continuous improvement skills/tools. Qualifications: Degree or 3rd level qualification (Science / Engineering. Desirable evidence of Continuous Professional Development. Desirable for Six Sigma Green Belt.
